The Path Of Zarathustra reflects the profound view of Parsi faith, belief, and religion.The film is a story of Oorvazi’s journey in understanding and interpreting her religion. Oorvazi is the only care taker of her grandfather and his grandfather gives her a book before he dies and Oorvazi travels to Mumbai to live with her masi. Pereus is surprised to meet Oorvazi after a long time and expresses his feeling and love for her. While Oorvazi is in Mumbai to explore the real truth and the message of the book which his grandfather gave her. Periodcially, Mystery is revealed in few layers as she meets some of the few historical characters which are very interesting and informative for her in search of truth behind the magic book. Through the course of the film Oorvazi imagines key figures of Zoroastrianism :- Kardir, Zurvan and Mazdak as real life persons giving the film a touch of magic realism. The movie is a slow paced philosophical which is essential for the story so people who love humor and action will find it not suitable for them. Overall the ideology behind the film and the vision of the director to decipher a message to the Parsi community is excellent. The film reflects the social and moral truth of the Parsi community and how the vision to preserve the message of Zoroastrian is displayed.
Parsis of India are a unique community, however, their numbers are declining quickly. The Path of Zarathustra’ is a reflection on dwindling community and on the exploration of one’s religious faith. As per the survey there are only 80k people who are Parsis. Ban on Inter Religion marriage and other social issues are hampering the Parsi community and the film has been made to pass the message to the community to look up for the truth and move on from custom reforms and help built and preserve the Zoroastrian religion.
