Melbourne :- Heaven on Earth !

Oye People !!!

When you talk or hear about Australia your mind automatically start those imaginations and the pictures you have seen over the internet, television or any press media and you are mesmerized into those beautiful pictures. Yes, Australia Indeed is one of the most beautiful country in the world.Today we are talking about an Australian City named Melbourne…I am sure everyone knows about it so let’s start a beautiful journey through my vision on Melbourne.

I felt in love with Melbourne ever since I learned about it in school, I went through multiple books and maps in the library to explore more about the city and I was fascinated to learn that there are multiple reasons to fall in love with this city. This city has been named as “The most Livable City in the World” according to Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and has been on the top 3 since 2002. A city which offers you almost everything you demand and you wish for it.

Melbourne is located on the South-Eastern part of  mainland Australia within the state of Victoria. The city is the financial head of the country and also one of the best cities in Australia in the form of climate. The climate is completely soothing and the average temperature is around 24°C and falls upto 5°C. Humidity and rainfall are decent making it a perfect city.In 2007 the Government of Australia declared to build Wonthaggi desalination plant  on Victoria’s south-east coast, capable of treating 150 billion litres of water per year. The Government has taken many appropriate measures and have set a goal to reduce carbon emissions to zero by 2020. Environment is one of the top priorities where the Government are planning new projects and acts to make the state of Victoria the best in the world. (info by Wiki)

Australia is one of the leading nations when it comes to sports. They are almost on top of the world in all the sports be it cricket or hockey or any atheletic sport. My favourite destination in Melbourne is to visit Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the stadium is one of the largest and of the most historic stadium in cricketing world.Who wouldn’t love to hold a glass of beer and watch Shane Warne bowl in the overcast conditions of an Ashes Test but unfortunately he has retired however the sport continues and visiting the stadium is on my toplist.

Melbourne Offers everything a metropolitan city offers from culture, sport, cinema to food and night life. The Queen Victoria Market is one of the attraction where every tourist or a visitor needs to visit and explore into it.

One of the most relaxing thing in a journey is a looongg drive across the sea where we can feel peace and the drive drives our mood.A drive alongside sea is the best medicine for a sad individual and the Great Ocean Road welcomes you with open arms.Everyone enjoys this drive and is remembered forever.

A day is completed with the stroke on sunset and it can be experienced at a beach.Melbourne has numerous beaches and touching your feet on the sand and walking with your partner in arms is such romantic feeling which is hard to explain in words. Sitting on the sand with cold breeze hitting your head & hairs while looking at the sun setting down makes a complete picture.

  1. I’d say, I’d love to visit MCG, the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Even though I’m not much of a cricket fanatic, I do wish to see India fight against Australia this world cup while I gulp down my maaza (not a big fan of beer either) because when it comes to the World Cup, I’m a hard core cricket fan who takes up watching all night and making bets too (with family only :3) ! 😄😄

BTW, very enthralling and illustrative post. Melbourne is no doubt the most livable city in the world. 😊😊

    Great job Jigish! 👍

  2. Its gotta be George’s restaurant. Being a true-blue foodie and a Masterchef Australia affectionado, I have always dreamt of eating in his restaurant (his and Gary’s, to be precise). Melbourne is a such a foodie paradise; great local produce paired with amazing restaurants…wish I’d been living there.

  3. Great post! After reading your post & watching all the videos, I’d most like to visit the Dandenong Ranges for it’s scenic beauty, breathtaking view and cool breeze blowing through my hair. 😛 I’d give anything away for driving through the winding roads which are present throughout the ranges. I’d love to stay at one of the bed and breakfast cottages and go on frequent excursions in the forests with my camera which provides excellent views. And not to forget the famous ride in the Puffing Billy, a day reserved especially for that. To add to that, there are also several picnic spots for me and my friends to spend a fun-filled day and the ranges are a perfect spot for hiking and cycling.

  4. Wonderful post and interesting videos that make me feel that
Melbourne invites the eternal romantic in me to hold hands with my beloved and go see the Twelve Apostles .Go on long drives on the great ocean road. In the middle of nowhere in a vineyard spread a table and enjoy a meal and a glass of wine with my dear one. Enjoy the sunsets holding hands and do lots of shopping at the Queen Victoria Market and see all the graffiti being created at the hosier lane.
Great Post and interesting videos watching them I am sure to visit Sovereign Hill for spending some time in the era gone by. The lure of gold and panning for some nuggets is a temptation that is too much to resist. After I have found the gold I am bound to celebrate it with some wine so I will visit the vineyards and enjoy some great wine from the Yarra region .Visit the Pannys Phillip Island Chocolate Factory and have my fill with this yummy delight.

  5. Firstly, You have done true justice to the topic Jigish.
Anyone who wishes to know about this Magnificent City or would want to plan a trip to Australia will really find your post to be very helpful.
Right from Weather Conditions, Tourists Help Centre to the best locations you have listed all well.

Now getting back to which place in Melbourne I would want to visit.

I would love to visit The Great Ocean Road.
Being a poet, a location like this would be nirvana for me. What a ride it would be along the coast! I would visit the place with my diary and I am sure that the serenity and beauty of this place would awaken the poet in me. Not just the ride, the Apostles at the end of the road will add to the experience. One of the wonders of world and a natural delight to the eyes I would love to visit them.

Thank you for a chance to participate in this Contest Jigish, wish you luck too 🙂

  6. I would like to visit the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) which is located in Yarra Park. Cricket has fancied me since childhood. I still remember those days when the elders in my neighbourhood used to start shouting and hunting for us the moment the cricket ball hit by me broke one of their window panes. Running away from them was even more exciting than playing cricket itself.

I used to follow every cricket match played by India religiously and used to analyse and discuss it with friends and siblings for days and months. Being such an enthusiastic fan of cricket, visiting one of the world’s largest cricket stadiums is one of my dreams.

The thought of being seated amongst 95,000 other fans of cricket and cheering the players itself sounds exciting to me. Such large cricket stadiums are one of the ways to explore how much the passion for cricket has penetrated among the people of the world. MCG is located in Yarra Park, which also has many other sporting fields. This would allow me to explore not just cricket, but also many other games.

I am a big fan of Tea, and since Melbourne is known for Tea culture, I would love to have Afternoon tea at Murchie’s Tea.. I love those Whale watching and would love to watch a movie in the extremely high resolution and the enormous screen of IMAX Victoria and treat my ears with the powerful sound. Finally, I would love to experience the land-and-sea tour by the Victoria Hippo Tours and Adrena LINE Zipline Adventure

  8. Interesting Post
After reading your post and watching all the videos
I feel I have stepped into a kaleidoscope called Melbourne
Where Vistas of experiences would unfold one after another
The nature lover in me is enticed by the thought of watching the penguin parade.
Traveling though the great ocean road, soaking up the freshness as the breeze ruffles my hair gets me in the mood to pack my bags for Melbourne.
But before I can move ,Puffing Billy whistles and invites me for a ride. The kid in me jumps with joy at the thought of visiting Pannys Phillip Island Chocolate Factory
Even before I can deside on the list of places that I would like to see in and around Melbourne.
    What’s that noise that I hear ?
Oh its loud cheer from MCG as the cricket world cup 2015 is about to kick start.
So many plces to see and so much to do.

  10. Wow! Melbourne is awesome! 🙂 You have presented its facets very well…
I have been seeing the videos over and over, and I think that one of the places I’m very keen to go to is The Great Ocean Road with its stunning coastline, the sunsets and beautiful serene drive! Can’t wait to see it all for myself 🙂

  11. Nice one! All the best for the contest 🙂
As for answering your question, I would love to visit the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Being a cricket enthusiast, I don’t think I would getter a better thrill in Australia than watching a Boxing Day Test Match live at the MCG. The Australian cricket fans are very hostile towards opposition players but are the first to appreciate a good player. I would want to sit amongst the 100,000 fans and cheer for my team. It would be even better if I got a seat next to Anushka Sharma so that if Virat Kohli scores a century and blows a kiss at her again, I would be on TV 😀

    • Thanks for the compliment.
MCG is on my list too where I want to witness an Ashes Test, gulping down beer & singing the Iconic Chant “Aussie…Aussie…Aussies..Oye…Oye…Oye !

  12. Hey Blazeing beauty 🙂

,Superb post ,so all set to pack bags to have a thrill at Melbourne,Now being high on my wish list .U’ve very well covered the best of Melbourne and for the entry in contest ,there cannot ever be a single place for me.It has to be a bouquet of places to calm down my zest to explore it.So naming ,first comes the Great Ocean road not just to linger or have a decent walk but to amaze myself with Jetskiing ,Scuba diving and to try swim with Dolphins, seal Yay,these beautiful creatures would be lucky to share a swim with me.ha ha.Then it would be Eureka Sky deck, to have an awe inspiring experience to be closest to sky and get the sky deck view of this liveable city, MCG to watch and cheer the players on one of the worlds best cricket ground!

Wishing u Best of Luck & a great year ahead.
